Open for business – experience the Central Highlands

Open for business – experience the Central Highlands

Now that the weather has settled down, flood levels along the coast are starting to drop and major arterial roads throughout the region are open, there is one message that we should all be putting out there at every opportunity: Central Queensland is open for business.

Yes, our neighbours on the coast felt the brunt of Cyclone Debbie a lot worse than we did, so now is the time to support them and encourage our prospective travellers that as a region, be it coastal or inland, our destination has a lot to offer.

Accommodation providers, tourism-related activities and tour providers, shops, restaurants, and cafes are open and need your business. Repairs to roads and infrastructure are happening and, as in the past, events such as this prove that we are a resilient industry.

Mary Carroll (Capricorn Enterprise CEO) and Margaret Strelow (Rockhampton Mayor) have called on the media to now focus on the “going forward” messages that we all need get behind and promote. When any of us have the opportunity, let’s tell the world that yes, we are open for business and yes, we will make all our travellers most welcome when they arrive in Central Queensland.
