Fossicking returns

MEDIA STATEMENT FROM QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT

We’ve got a real gem for you!

All Queensland fossicking areas re-opened from 11.59pm Friday, 15 May 2020.

Do you dig it?!

But don’t forget, we all still need to do our bit – continue social distancing, maintain good hygiene, and stay home if you are sick.

Camping remains closed.

Recreational travel is allowed up to 150 kilometres from your home or a radius of up to 500 kilometres for outback residents.

And a reminder, the area known as “The Gemfields” now has clearly defined localities of Anakie Siding, Sapphire Central and Rubyvale and improved mapping making it easier to locate.

May the quartz be with you.
