BY CENTRAL HIGHLANDS REGIONAL COUNCIL
Now there’s more reason than ever to get to the airport early. High Fly Café in the Emerald Airport is open and ready to take your order.
‘This is the first time council has run this venue in the airport,’ said Mayor Kerry Hayes.
‘Our new team members are so enthusiastic, it’s really great to bring this aspect of the airport back to life.’
Patrons in the departure lounge may not want to board their flight with the wafting smell of fresh pies, baked goods, and of course quality coffee. A liquor license is currently in progress.
‘The team has been working really hard on bringing the best experience possible for locals and visitors,’ said Airport Kiosk Supervisor Kirsty Bentley.
‘We really wanted to put a focus on supporting local businesses,’
‘All the furniture is provided by Harvey Norman Emerald, the dishware and décor are by Highland Homewares, and the food is from Bidfood Emerald,’ said Bentley.
‘Soon, we’ll be launching a fun and upscale menu–suggestions are welcomed!’ said Bentley.
High Fly Café is open during flight times, with a more formalised schedule in the works.
