The Jewel of the Gemfields is a premier three-day annual event held at Roy Day Park in Sapphire, celebrating the region’s rich sapphire mining heritage.

Hosted by the Gemfields Lapidary & Craft Club Inc., it features gemstone traders, lapidary demonstrations, and jewellery sales.

Free entry and plenty of parking.

• Sapphires, jewellery, opals, gems and lapidary supplies.

• A huge variety of traders including L.A. Gems, Glenn Huntley, Sapphire Gem Cuts, McArthur’s Jewellers, and Earthtoocean-jewellery.

• Enjoy live music from Hello Jane and Timothy Johnson. Join in with Okie Dokie-Karaoke, and keep an eye out for the Memphis Moovers Roving Band.

• Food stalls including coffee, burgers, hot chips, donuts and more.

• Sapphire displays and demonstrations including gemstone cutting, polishing and jewellery making. Plus on-site fossicking parks.

• Raffle tickets are available for $5, with more than $26k worth of Australian sapphires up for grabs. The draw will be held on Sunday at 1pm.
